Delegates dance the night away

If you think MUNers don’t know how to party, think again. Last night, hours of entertainment were produced from delegates of THIMUN. Not only was our secretary general prancing on the dance floor, but also delegates and Hwa Chong students.

Awkward table cries started the night, and the mixing of students was prolonged until the last few minutes. The dance was accompanied by the insane array of food presented by the Orchid Club. From Asian to Western, salad table to dessert table, students were seen returning to the buffet multiple times. And whilst everyone ate a lot, all calories were lost when it was time for the lights to go off and music to go on (not that they weren’t playing music beforehand).

Whilst the majority of people were dancing (if one would call it that), others strayed around, talking and mingling. Underneath all the smoke and lights exuding out of the dancefloor, huddles of the crowd stood watching delegates dance in the middle.

Although most schools did not stay past 10:30PM, time did not hinder the event as the chance to hang out with friends from other schools where the atmosphere wasn’t strictly MUN and delegates didn’t have to stick to parliamentary terms, was a sight one could not miss.

When it was time to say goodbye, you could see how some schools were sweatier than others. Delegates, Chairs, Press Team and Admins all having fun together and away from their usual rooms itself was entertaining to watch.

And although it is all over, it was great way to end a great week and those returning to THIMUN 2014 can only wait to see how the conference will be next year.
